Common questions

LVP vs hardwood for a Minnesota home?
LVP (luxury vinyl plank) is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and 60–80% the cost of hardwood. It handles humidity swings from Minnesota winters well. Hardwood still holds resale value better and can be refinished decades later — LVP can't.
Will you fix my squeaky subfloor?
Yes — that's part of prep. We pull up old flooring, find loose subfloor screws or fasteners, refasten or shim as needed. Squeaks come back if the floor goes down over a bad subfloor.
Can you transition between rooms with different flooring?
Yes — we install proper transition strips, threshold pieces, or Schluter profiles depending on what materials are meeting and the height difference.
How much does LVP flooring installation cost?
LVP runs $5–$8 per sqft installed, including removal of existing flooring and subfloor inspection. A 500 sqft main floor runs $2,500–$4,000 installed. Hardwood is $7–$14/sqft depending on species and site-finishing.
How long does hardwood need to acclimate?
Solid hardwood needs 5–7 days in the space before installation, at finished interior conditions. We won't skip this — it's the most common cause of hardwood buckling.
Do you move furniture?
Yes — furniture move and reset within reason is included. Pianos, pool tables, and large gun safes have separate handling fees.

Warranty?
1-year workmanship warranty on installation. Manufacturer product warranties (typically 10–25 years for LVP, lifetime for hardwood finish) transfer to you.
